Monsoon month left, already Mumbai’s got 83% of season’s rain

With the monsoon season yet to stretch another month, Mumbai’s rainfall has exceeded by 234 mm on record till August 15th rain, making the average rainfall 83% of the whole season’s lot, which is 2319 mm, says Santacruz observatory of IMD. Meanwhile, Colaba IMD has registered 1,523 mm rainfall so far. With light to moderate rainfalls predicted till August 19th, the city’s water stock will be exceeding the already milestone worthy 95% or 13.7 lakh million litres fill. It’s mandatory to reach 14.6 lakh million litres by October 1, in order to fulfil the requirements until next monsoon.
