A ceiling of a residence in the Moti Chhaya building, a part of the alleged illegally constructed gaothan settlement, crashed on Monday upon an old couple of 87 and 93, in Nane Pada, Mulund. The couple was rushed to the nearby hospital, upon reaching to which they were already found dead. Authorities, including BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha and former BJP corporator Prabhakar Shinde, say that the area was under Section 351 of unauthorized construction, which was filed by BMC just a month earlier, and was supposed to be vacated by inhabitants. Police investigation is in action.
