Rise of Sensex by 379 points; Nifty crossing 17,800

Sensex rises for 3rd straight session, ends 379 pts higher; Nifty tops 17,800

Since past three months, equity market has borne witness to the relaxing consumer inflation, which has changed the game for stock-market indexes, including Sensex, that has risen by 379.47 points and ended the session at 59,842.21. Nifty50 came in close by terminating the session above 17,800, its highest score since April 5th. Nifty auto rose 2.54 per cent today, with 2 per cent each advancing Maruti and M&M. Among top gainers of 30-share Sensex were Asian Paints, Ultratech Cement, HDFC, Tech Mahindra and more, ranging within 1-2 per cent each.
