An SC bench of CJI N V Ramana, Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and CT Ravikumar will review the verdict adhering to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), requested by a petition, in an open court today. The previous bench judgement given by Justice Khanwilkar on July 27, who reviewed the provisions of the Act, passed it as not suffering from “the vices of arbitrariness” and that it was “a unique and special legislation”; resulting several to believe the Act as draconian.
