In the speculations of connecting water bodies between India and Bangladesh, the two countries are now sharing 7 treaties, among which are training Bangladeshi railway personnel in Indian institutes, collaboration of IT systems, training of Bangladeshi judicial members in India, water withdrawal from Kushiara river, and more. The Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina, currently on a four day visit to India, has gifted 2,450 MT of fish for upcoming Durga Puja from a decade long banned Hilsa port. In gratitude of allowing connectivity, India has also inaugurated the first unit of Maitri Super Thermal Power project in Bangladesh.
