After witnessing Congress’s Bharat Jodo march, BJP headed to Kolkata on Monday in the intent of a protest march, Nabanna Abhijan (march to secretariat) against corruption of TMC party. Even though police was barricaded on the city’s borders as well as Howrah Bridge, the protest turned violent as BJP workers were detained on several railway stations, including Raniganj and Bolpur, heading to the protest. Opposition leaders in West Bengal Suvendu Adhikari, along with Locket Chatterjee and Rahul Sinha, were detained in police vans.
