Death toll rises to 134 in the Morbi Bridge mishap

After the sudden collapse of the British-era century old standing Morbi Bridge in Gujarat, crowds of people on-board the bridge were captured falling in the waters below. New bodies, now ranging to 134, have been found in the Machchhu River so far, with search parties still going. The bridge was recently re-opened after renovation, without the fitness certificate of the local municipalities though. An investigation pertaining to FIR on sections 304, 308 and 114 is currently in action to find the culprits. Cancelling PM Modi’s rally, government has offered ₹4 lakh to affected families.
