The traffic police have introduced strict regulations and closed the wayside parking slots previously marked for light motor vehicles along Kannur Road until the completion of the 45-day-long maintenance work on CH Flyover in Kozhikode. In response to complaints about congested traffic movements on Gandhi Road following the new regulations, the police may also introduce more curbs on parking along the road. During peak traffic hours, regulations may be considered for roads from the beach connected to the national highway. No-parking boards will be installed soon to avoid confusion. Furthermore, the cooperation of some city schools and colleges has been sought to discourage wayside parking. However, some private bus operators expressed concerns over new diversions during peak hours, which they found difficult to navigate with heavy vehicles.
