Mangaluru police have arrested four people in connection with an alleged assault on three youths outside St. Aloysius College gate, facing Mulky Sundaram Shetty Road, on June 16. The police have identified the accused as Mohammed Thufail, Mohammed Afreed, Maksood Sag and Abdul Sattar. The incident occurred when a minor girl repeatedly called Nidhish, 19, through Instagram and asked him to meet her near the masjid in front of St. Aloysius College gate. Nidhish went to the spot along with his two friends, and the girl came with her boyfriend. When five people came in a car and there was a heated exchange, the group started assaulting the trio. Nilesh and Amit, who intervened, were also assaulted. One of the attackers used a knife to stab Nidhish’s chest and right hand. On a complaint from Nilesh, Mangaluru North police registered a case and formed a team to nab the attackers. The four accused were arrested from a residential apartment in Kudupu, and a case was registered against the minor girl, who was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
