Generative AI job postings in the United States experienced a 20% surge in May, as companies sought to capitalize on the potential of this technology. Data from job portal Indeed revealed that the figure of 204 job postings per million was more than double that of 2021. The popularity of AI has been propelled by the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Data scientist roles accounted for 5% of AI job postings, while software engineers, machine learning engineers, and data engineers were also in high demand. Notably, there has been increased interest in AI-related jobs since the launch of ChatGPT, according to Nick Bunker, director of economic research at Indeed.
