PM Modi Returns to India After Visit to the United States and Egypt

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India in the early hours of Monday after his six-day visit to the United States and Egypt. Several landmark agreements were signed during the visit, strengthening the diplomatic ties between India and these countries.

Upon his arrival at the Delhi airport, PM Modi was received by Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakashi Lekhi, and BJP chief J P Nadda. Notable BJP leaders and party MPs from Delhi, such as Harsh Vardhan, Hans Raj Hans, and Gautam Gambhir, were also present to welcome the Prime Minister.

After landing, PM Modi expressed curiosity about the country’s progress and the BJP’s public outreach program. He asked BJP president J P Nadda and other leaders about the current situation in India. Nadda informed him that party leaders were reaching out to the people with the report card of his government’s nine-year tenure, which had received positive feedback and made the country happy.

Further, PM Modi wanted to know the status of the party’s public outreach program. The leaders briefed him on the ongoing efforts and initiatives taken to connect with the public at large.

The Prime Minister’s visit to the United States started on June 20th, where he took part in a historic event at the UN headquarters in New York to commemorate the 9th International Day of Yoga on June 21st. He later received a warm welcome at the White House by US President Joe Biden. The two leaders held a historic summit, followed by PM Modi’s address to Congress and a State Dinner hosted by the Bidens in his honor. The visit resulted in significant agreements in various sectors, including defense, space, and trade, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.

From the US, Prime Minister Modi traveled to Egypt. On his arrival in Cairo, he was received by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly at the airport. During his visit, PM Modi held talks with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and was bestowed with the prestigious ‘Order of the Nile’ award, Egypt’s highest state honor. The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Egypt, particularly in areas such as trade and investments, energy ties, and people-to-people connections. The two countries elevated their relationship to a ‘Strategic Partnership’.

This visit marked significant milestones in bolstering India’s global relations and advancing cooperation in various sectors with both the United States and Egypt. The Indian Prime Minister’s presence at key international events and the signing of important agreements underline India’s growing stature and commitment on the global stage.
