India Continues Winning Run in Asian Kabaddi Championships

The Indian men’s Kabaddi team extended its unbeaten streak at the Asian Kabaddi Championships in Busan, South Korea by defeating Japan with a convincing scoreline of 62-17. This victory marks their third consecutive win at the tournament. Aslam Inamdar continued to impress, securing his second Super 10 of the tournament and emerging as the top scorer in the match. Parvesh Bhainswal demonstrated exceptional leadership in the Indian defense, according to Olympics.com. Both India and Japan entered the match with two remarkable wins, but the Japanese team failed to withstand the dominance displayed by Team India. India executed six all-outs against Japan, with three in each half. Their first all-out occurred in the fourth minute of the game, allowing them to establish a commanding lead of 18-0 before Japan managed to secure any points in the eighth minute. The first half concluded with a scoreline of 32-6 in favor of India. Pawan Sehrawat, the team’s skipper, emerged as the top raider for Team India, contributing six points in the first half. While Japan displayed better performance in the second half, scoring quick points, India’s exceptional skills proved insurmountable, resulting in a 45-point victory margin for India. The upcoming highly-anticipated match for Team India will be against Iran, another unbeaten team in the tournament. The Asian Championships feature six teams, including India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong. The final match, to be held on Friday, will showcase the top two teams from the single-leg round-robin competition.
