Seven people have lost their lives and two others are in critical condition following a tragic road accident in Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Thursday night when the SUV in which they were travelling crashed into a stationary truck on Kamasin Road in the Baberu police station area. Among the deceased were Saira Bano, the mother of one of the victims, and her two sons, Katlu and Mushahid. The driver of the truck managed to escape, and efforts are currently underway to locate him. Local authorities suspect that the SUV was travelling at a high speed of 120 km per hour, and the driver failed to control the vehicle. This incident has once again raised concerns about the speeding on highways. The government had previously issued an order prohibiting heavy vehicles from parking on roads, but implementation has been lacking. The Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and has instructed officials to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured. Investigations are ongoing to gather more information about the accident and hold any responsible parties accountable.
