A bus travelling from Nagpur to Pune in India’s Maharashtra state crashed and caught fire on the Samruddhi Mahamarg expressway. The incident occurred at around 1:35 am on Saturday. According to local police, the fuel tank of the bus caught fire after the accident, resulting in a major loss of life. Authorities have confirmed that at least 25 people were killed and eight sustained injuries. Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and Prime Minister expressed grief over the incident and announced financial support of 700,000 Indian rupees ($8,500) for each victim’s family.
