Motorola aims to be among top three brands with India success: Buniac

Smartphone maker Motorola sees India as a key market to meet its target of being among the top three brands in the segment globally in the next three years, according to Motorola Global President Sergio Buniac. Buniac stated that the company has a long-term commitment to the Indian market and aims to replicate its success in India in other markets around the world. Motorola recently unveiled its latest premium smartphones, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra for Rs 89,999 and the Motorola Razr 40 for Rs 59,999. The company plans to start pre-booking for these phones from July 15. Buniac also mentioned that Motorola is very satisfied with the response from Indian customers for premium segment phones. He stated that the company has doubled its volume and aims to double it again in the second half of the year. Motorola Global Head for Customer Experience and Design, Prashanth Mani, added that the company saw strong growth momentum in India and recorded 100% year-over-year growth in the first quarter of this year. As part of its growth strategy, Motorola now manufactures all smartphones for India locally and also exports ‘made in India’ phones to the US and neighbouring markets. Mani also mentioned that the company plans to double its investments in the premium category and aims to be among the top three smartphone brands in India over the next three years.
