In a sign of impending change in the political equations in Karnataka, former chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday hinted at the possibility of the BJP allying with the JD(S) ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in 2024. Yediyurappa supported JD(S) chief HD Kumaraswamy’s statement and said that Kumaraswamy and the BJP will fight together in the future. However, Yediyurappa added that the final decision will be made by the Central leadership. The JD(S) has been attacking the new Congress government, which it deems corrupt, after suffering defeat in the state elections. With the Congress winning a majority of seats, the alliance between JD(S) and BJP in Karnataka could be a game-changer in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
