A 25-year-old man tragically lost his life when the roof of a dilapidated motor pumpset room collapsed on a farm in Amballur village, Tirupattur district. The incident took place while a group of workers was engaged in demolishing the old pumpset room to construct a new one. The man, identified as A. Vignesh, was instantly killed as the roof caved in on him. The other workers sustained injuries but were rescued by nearby farmers and neighbors. Efforts were made to retrieve Vignesh’s body from under the debris, and the police arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The victim’s body was taken to the Government Taluk Hospital for a postmortem examination. The Amballur police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and further details are yet to be revealed.
