BJP Appoints Poll In-Charges for Four States Ahead of Assembly Elections

The BJP has ramped up its preparations for the assembly elections by appointing poll in-charges for four states. Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Pralhad Joshi have been given charge of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan respectively. Former Union minister Prakash Javadekar and senior functionary Om Mathur have been assigned Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Nitin Patel and Kuldeep Bishnoi will be co-incharges for the Rajasthan polls, while Mansukh Mandaviya will be the co-incharge for Chhattisgarh. Ashwini Vaishnaw will be the co-incharge for Madhya Pradesh and Sunil Bansal for Telangana. The party expects these four states, along with Mizoram, to go to polls in October-November.

Javadekar expressed confidence in BJP’s chances in Telangana, where the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has been in power for nearly a decade. He claimed that the people’s mood is favouring BJP and they are going to the polls to win it. Javadekar criticized the current government in Telangana helmed by CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, stating that it has failed the people on all fronts.

After losing the high-profile Karnataka polls to the Congress, the BJP is determined to put up a strong show in the upcoming elections before the significant battle next year. Pralhad Joshi previously demonstrated his astute political acumen by successfully handling the Uttarakhand polls in 2022, where the BJP secured victory even in challenging circumstances. He garnered praise for his wise counsel and support for Pushkar Singh Dhami as the state’s chief minister, despite his own electoral loss.

Bhupender Yadav has been actively involved as an organization leader in various state polls, while Om Mathur, with extensive experience, serves as the BJP’s organizational in-charge for Chhattisgarh and will bring his familiarity with the role to this position.
