Tomato Price Hike: Tomato Slice Disappeared from McDonald’s Burger

New Delhi: As tomato prices continue to rise in the market, tomatoes are disappearing from kitchens. After disappearing from kitchens, tomatoes are now also missing from burgers and pizzas. The skyrocketing price of tomatoes has not only affected the common man’s pocket, but also the producers of major companies. Food chain McDonald’s has decided not to use tomatoes in some of its outlets’ burgers and other products. This means that while you will find tomato tikka and onions in McDonald’s burgers, the tomato slice will be missing. The company claims that due to the unavailability of good quality tomatoes, they will not be using tomatoes in their products for the time being. Burger King has also made a similar decision. These companies cite the lack of good quality tomatoes as the reason. However, they assure that this problem will be resolved soon. Along with burgers, tomatoes have also disappeared from food items served in restaurants and hotels. About 10-15% of restaurants have stopped serving tomatoes. According to them, there is a shortage of supply, which is causing a scarcity of good quality tomatoes. This increase in tomato prices is not limited to tomatoes alone; the prices of other vegetables are also reaching the sky.
