Aaditya Thackeray predicts Eknath Shinde may be asked to resign as Chief Minister

Days ahead of the state cabinet expansion, Aaditya Thackeray, a youth leader of UBT Sena, has predicted a significant change in the government, particularly regarding Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. According to Thackeray, there are rumors that Shinde has been asked to resign from his position. This development comes after Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs joined Shinde’s year-old ministry. If Shinde’s resignation indeed occurs, it would be a surprising turn of events in state politics. Ajit Pawar currently shares the deputy CM post with BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis in Shinde’s government.

Thackeray referred to those who deserted the Sena a year ago as ‘original back-stabbers,’ highlighting their uncertain future in the new government. He emphasized that these rebels, who were expecting ministerial posts, have not received any positions so far and would now have to rely on the goodwill of others to remain in power. The political situation remains fluid as the state cabinet expansion nears, and the final decisions regarding government positions are yet to be announced.
