Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has invited top opposition leaders for participation in the next unity meeting scheduled to be held on July 17-18th at Bengaluru.
In a letter addressed to top opposition party leaders, Kharge reminded them about their participation in the June 23 opposition meeting held in Patna. The meeting, called by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saw the attendance of more than 15 parties.
Kharge referred to the Patna meeting as a great success, stating that important issues affecting the democratic polity were discussed, and a unanimous agreement was reached on unitedly fighting the upcoming general elections.
Kharge emphasized the need to build on the momentum created and find solutions to the challenges facing the country. He requested the leaders to attend the meeting and dinner on July 17, followed by a continuation of the meeting on July 18.
The purpose of the meeting is to strategize and outline the opposition’s plan for defeating the BJP in the 2024 general elections.
