Ravichandran Ashwin shined on the first day of the 1st Test match between India and West Indies as his five-wicket haul helped India gain an upper hand. India dominated the game by bundling out West Indies for just 150 runs. In response, India ended the day with a strong score of 80/0. Ashwin’s excellent performance was well-supported by Ravindra Jadeja’s three-wicket haul. The only notable resistance from West Indies came from debutant batsman Alick Athanaze, who scored 47 runs. Day 1 belonged completely to the Indian team, and they will look to continue their dominance on Day 2.
