BJP Working to Bring Reconciliation in Ram Vilas Paswan’s Family

BJP is actively working towards bringing reconciliation between the warring branches of the family of late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who was a prominent Dalit leader. The party aims to achieve this by getting these factions to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as a unified group. Nityanand Rai, the Union Minister of State for Home, has initiated talks with Chirag Paswan and his estranged uncle Pashupati Paras, who is the Union Minister for Food Processing. Rai, who shares a good equation with both factions, has counseled Paras to reach a compromise and settle the ongoing dispute. Chirag, on the other hand, tweeted a photograph with Rai, indicating a positive response to the mediation effort. The BJP acknowledges Chirag as the rightful successor of Ram Vilas Paswan, prioritizing him over Paras. The party’s invitation to Chirag to attend the upcoming NDA meeting confirms this endorsement. Chirag’s possible return to the NDA could create difficulties for Paras and the other LJP MPs. Chirag’s political claim over LJP and his leadership among Paswans might lead him to lay claim to the seats won by LJP in the 2019 elections. Despite meeting Rai and discussing the issue, Paras expressed his unwillingness to vacate the Hajipur seat, which was previously held by Ram Vilas Paswan. Furthermore, there are speculations about Chirag or his mother being the potential candidates from Hajipur.
