A six-year-old tribal girl from Chamarajanagar district, identified as Susheela, has tragically passed away after being attacked by a leopard. The incident occurred 15 days ago when Susheela was playing outside her house in Kaggaligundi Soliga hamlet, Hanur taluk. The girl sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Kamagere, where she was undergoing treatment. Forest minister Eshwar B Khandre, who visited Mysuru, announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh for the girl’s family. He further instructed officials to immediately provide a cheque of Rs 5 lakh and the remaining amount in the upcoming days. In addition, the minister expressed his intention to discuss arrangements for a monthly honorarium of Rs 4,000 for the family with the Chief Minister.
