Monsoon Rains and Floods: Houses Collapse in Jammu and Kashmir, Rise in River Water Levels in Uttarakhand, Orange Alert for Mumbai, and Yamuna Water Level Breaches Danger Mark in Delhi

Four people were killed Wednesday as heavy rains caused several houses to collapse in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. A rescue operation is underway to save the trapped individuals. In Uttarakhand, the prolonged monsoon rains have led to a significant increase in river water levels. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been put on high alert to tackle any possible flooding. Mumbai and Thane districts are on orange alert for heavy rainfall, while Raigad and Palghar districts are on red alert. Yamuna water level in Delhi breached the danger mark again, less than 12 hours after dropping below it. The water level is expected to rise further. Train services were affected in Mumbai due to heavy rains, but bus services were running smoothly. The monsoon season continues to impact various parts of India with heavy showers.
