Kenneth Branagh to Direct ‘A Haunting in Venice’ as Next Hercule Poirot Mystery

Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and star in ‘A Haunting in Venice’, the next installment in the Hercule Poirot mystery series. The film, based on Agatha Christie’s novel ‘Hallowe’en Party’, follows Poirot as he finds himself out of his element in a new city. The trailer showcases a retired and grey Poirot, who is reluctantly attending a séance overseen by a psychic played by Michelle Yeoh. As mysterious occurrences unfold, Poirot is told by Tina Fey to admit that he is up against something bigger than himself.

‘A Haunting in Venice’ is the third Christie adaptation helmed by Branagh, who previously directed ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (2017) and ‘Death on the Nile’ (2022). The film also features an ensemble cast including Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, and Riccardo Scamarcio.
