The Indian government is taking strong action against SIM card-related digital frauds, disconnecting 52 lakh mobile connections and blacklisting 67,000 dealers. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently revealed that the government has registered 300 FIRs against SIM card dealers since May 2023. This crackdown aims to curb the increasing cases of fraud that exploit SIM cards. The government’s decisive measures will help in building a more secure digital ecosystem for the citizens.
