Software major Cognizant has announced the promotion of two senior executives and the splitting of the global growth markets (GGM) leadership role. The move comes after the departure of president Rob Walker last month. The GGM role will now be shared between Manoj Mehta, the current global head of large deals, and Jane Livesey, the CEO of Asia Pacific. Both executives will join Cognizant’s executive committee. Mehta will oversee commercial and delivery interests in Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), while Livesey will be responsible for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. The appointments reflect Cognizant’s focus on accelerating revenue growth in markets outside of the Americas. The company aims to improve its strategic position with clients and capture more market opportunities in these regions. Cognizant’s CEO, Ravi Kumar S, highlighted the importance of global growth markets in the company’s revenue growth strategy. The appointments come at a time when Cognizant has experienced a number of high-level departures. Anil Cheriyan, the executive vice president of strategy and technology, and Becky Schmitt, the chief people officer, have both stepped down in recent months. Despite these changes, Cognizant remains optimistic about its financial performance. The company reported a 19% drop in net profit for the second quarter, but reaffirmed its full-year guidance of a 1% decline and 1% revenue growth in constant currency terms. Cognizant’s strong deal bookings and focus on cost optimization are expected to drive its financial performance for the remainder of the year.
