In a tragic accident, a 10-year-old girl named Leora Sri lost her life when she fell from a two-wheeler driven by her mother and was run over by a speeding water tanker. The incident took place in Kovilambakkam, Chennai. Leora was living with her mother, Keerthi, while her father worked in Germany. The mother-daughter duo was on their way to Leora’s school in Madipakkam when the accident occurred. Keerthi lost control of the vehicle due to heavy traffic and the bumpy road, causing both of them to fall onto the road. Unfortunately, a water tanker coming from behind ran over Leora, resulting in her death. The driver of the tanker parked a few meters away from the accident site and fled the scene. However, he was later apprehended by the police. The body of the girl was sent for a post-mortem examination at a government hospital. The Traffic Investigation Police in Pallikaranai have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
