Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, has claimed that she has no regrets regarding her emotional outburst during the third ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka. Harmanpreet was suspended for two matches after expressing her dissent by slamming the stumps due to the umpire’s decision to call her out. She later criticized the overall umpiring in the bilateral series as ‘pathetic’ during the post-match presentation. Consequently, Harmanpreet will miss India’s first two T20I matches at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September-October. While playing for Trent Rockets in the Women’s Hundred tournament, Harmanpreet stated that as a player, it is important to witness fair decisions and players have the right to express themselves. She emphasized that she didn’t say anything wrong to anyone and has no regrets about her comments on the field. Additionally, she received three demerit points for showing dissent and one more for public criticism of match officials, in addition to her suspension. (With inputs from PTI)
