Nasscom Launches ‘Nasscom Talent Connect’ Portal to Address Skill Gap

The Sector Skill Council at Nasscom on Wednesday introduced a new portal called ‘Nasscom Talent Connect’. The platform is designed to serve as an exclusive portal for enterprises seeking digitally skilled and certified talent for both IT and non-IT sectors, as well as aspiring technology candidates looking to kickstart their careers. Additionally, the portal provides opportunities for freshers and professionals with career breaks to reenter the workforce.

According to Kirti Seth, CEO of SSC Nasscom, talent has consistently been a major challenge for companies, with digital skills being in high demand. India currently boasts the lowest tech demand-supply gap among top tech locations like the US, China, and the UK, with a supply of 2.14 million STEM graduates annually, ranking second globally after China. As of March 2023, around 2 million of the country’s 5.4 million tech employees had received digital training.

Nasscom states that the industry is swiftly narrowing the tech talent pool demand, with a high reskillability index and a significant portion of adjacent tech talent.
