FPI inflows slow to nearly Rs 11,000 crore in August

After three months of strong foreign fund flows into stocks, foreign portfolio investor (FPI) inflows slowed down in August. FPIs made a net investment of Rs 10,689 crore, driven by higher oil prices and resurfacing inflation risks. According to Shrikant Chouhan of Kotak Securities, macroeconomic uncertainty and rising US bond yields have led to market volatility and prompted FPIs to exit emerging market equities.
