Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has defended his son and DMK minister Udhayanidhi, who recently made controversial remarks about Sanatan principles. Stalin clarified that Udhayanidhi had no intention to offend any religion or religious beliefs with his comments. He challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to consult RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for further clarification on the matter. Stalin also questioned whether Prime Minister Modi was aware of the misinformation being spread about Udhayanidhi and accused him of diverting attention from important issues. The Chief Minister raised concerns about the backward castes, Scheduled Castes (SCs), tribal people, and women, questioning whether the BJP and its leaders can truly protect and uplift them. He also highlighted that the INDIA alliance has rattled Modi, who had proposed the one nation, one election policy out of fear. The remarks made by Udhayanidhi had triggered a nationwide uproar, leading to debates on freedom of speech and the role of religion in politics.
