Bengaluru traffic police has released a traffic advisory for the public ahead of the planned ‘Bengaluru Bandh’ called by the Karnataka State Private Vehicles Owner Association. The advisory urges road users to use alternative routes and plan their travel accordingly. The police have specifically advised to avoid KG Road, Sheshadri Road, GT Road, and roads around Freedom Park and Majestic Bus stand. The protest is a response to the Karnataka government’s Shakti scheme providing free travel to women on non-premium government buses. The private transport operators claim that the scheme is affecting their profits. The protest is expected to disrupt the transport service in the city.
