The Special Investigation Agency (SIA) carried out intensive searches in the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district to prevent the revival of militancy. Based on intelligence reports that suggested the involvement of over-ground workers (OGWs) in providing assistance to anti-national elements, the SIA conducted the search operation in Pouni and Mahore tehsils. The agency seized electronic gadgets and documents during the operation. Reasi, which was cleared of militancy over a decade ago, has reportedly been witnessing some movement of terrorists in recent times. The SIA is already investigating a case against two terrorists who were arrested last year and obtained search warrants from a court for the raids. The search operation is a crucial step in ensuring the security and stability of the region.
