Odisha, a state in India, is set to join the list of wind power states by providing 500 MW of capacity under the ‘feed-in tariff’ mechanism. This move is aimed at promoting the use of renewable energy sources and reducing the reliance on fossil fuels in the state. The feed-in tariff mechanism allows for the sale of electricity generated from wind power at a predetermined price for a fixed duration. In addition to this, the state government also plans to provide incentives for turbines or components that are manufactured within Odisha. These measures are expected to attract investment in the wind power sector and boost the local economy.
