Hockey captain Harmanpreet Singh and boxer Lovlina Borgohain have been chosen as India’s flag-bearers for the upcoming Asian Games opening ceremony. The Asian Games, in its 19th edition, will commence on September 23 in Hangzhou, China. India is sending its largest-ever contingent with 655 athletes participating in 41 out of the 61 available disciplines at the Asiad. The multi-sport event will take place across 56 venues, offering a total of 481 gold medals.
Even though the official opening ceremony will be held on September 23, some sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, and beach volleyball (qualification round) have already begun their competitions. The Indian athletes have high hopes for success in various sports at the event.
