The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show cause notice to one of its MPs, Ramesh Bidhuri, for his use of unparliamentary language against an opposition member. The notice was issued on the instruction of party president JP Nadda. The incident occurred during a discussion on the success of Chandrayaan-3 in the Lok Sabha. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also took serious note of the objectionable remarks made by Bidhuri and warned of strict action if such behavior is repeated in the future. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed regret immediately after the incident.

The remarks made by Bidhuri triggered a furore in the House, with opposition leaders calling for strict action against him. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali, the target of Bidhuri’s remarks, expressed his disappointment and demanded justice. He further criticized the BJP for not just insulting him and his followers, but the entire nation. He questioned whether the BJP would take action against Bidhuri or promote him to a ministerial position in the central cabinet. Ali also mentioned the prevalence of such statements in and outside of Parliament by BJP leaders.

The Congress party also strongly objected to Bidhuri’s remarks and demanded his suspension from the House. Jairam Ramesh, a Congress general secretary, deemed the apology offered by Rajnath Singh as insufficient and called for strict action against Bidhuri.

The incident has caused a stir in the political arena, with various parties expressing their views on the matter. The show cause notice serves as a signal of the BJP’s stance on maintaining decorum and disciplined behavior within the party.
