Lekh Ram and Babu Lal Yadav brought glory to India by winning their second rowing medal and third overall at the ongoing Asian Games. The duo captured a bronze medal in the Men’s Pair Final. Clocking at 6:50.41s, India finished third behind Hong Kong and Uzbekistan. Hong Kong, China clinched first place, followed by Uzbekistan. The Indian pair crossed the 1500m mark with a time of 5:05.11s. China eventually claimed the gold medal. In the men’s rowing lightweight double sculls event, Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh secured a silver medal for India by finishing marginally behind China. The Indian duo surprised everyone by reaching the podium after finishing 11th in the Tokyo Olympics. They clocked 6:28.18s, while the Chinese pair finished in 6:23.16s to secure the gold. Uzbekistan settled for a bronze medal. Throughout the race, the Indian rowers gave a tough competition to the hosts. With 500m to go, China managed to create a lead of 2.73 seconds. Uzbekistan maintained their position in third. So far, India has won two silvers and a bronze medal in the Asian Games.
