A 40-year-old history sheeter, Mahesh Mohan Shetty, resisted arrest and assaulted a team of Mumbai police officers while they were trying to apprehend him in connection with a molestation case. The incident took place in Ratnabai Chawl, Borivali, where the police officers had gone on a tip-off. Shetty, who had previously been charged with alleged molestation last year, reacted aggressively and assaulted one of the constables. He was eventually subdued and taken to the Borivali police station where a case was filed against him. Shetty is already facing multiple serious charges, including kidnapping and rape, and had been banned from entering or residing within the jurisdiction of Mumbai Police’s zone-11.
