Indian Swimmers Set National Record, Indian Men’s Cricket Team Advances, and More Updates from Asian Games 2023

Indian swimmers Tanish George Mathew, Vishal Grewal, Anand AS, and Srihari Nataraj set a national record time of 3:21.22 in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay heats at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. They advanced to the final, which will take place today at 6:18 PM IST. The Indian men’s cricket team, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, also advanced to the quarter-finals, while the women’s cricket team clinched the gold medal. In track cycling, Triyasha Paul advanced to the 1/16 final, but lost in the heats and will now compete in the repechage round. In table tennis, the Indian mixed doubles pair Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra was eliminated in the round of 16. In shooting, the men’s 10m air pistol team won the first Indian gold medal. In wushu, Naorem Roshibina Devi settled for silver in the women’s 60kg category. In badminton, PV Sindhu led the women’s team to the quarter-finals. The Indian medal tally in various sports has now reached 22. Aditi Ashok started her campaign in golf, and shooting and badminton were on the early agenda.
