Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi visited the Bhalswa Landfill site on September 30 and held a meeting with officials to assess the progress of garbage clearance. Kejriwal expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, stating that 18 lakh tonnes of garbage have already been cleared. The agency responsible for the task is expected to clear 30 lakh tonnes of garbage by May next year. However, due to the efficiency and speed at which the work is being done, Kejriwal anticipates that the actual amount cleared will exceed the target and reach 45 lakh tonnes. This ambitious goal demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving the cleanliness and environmental conditions in Delhi.
