Cristiano Ronaldo Faces New Legal Challenge Over Rape Allegation
    Uncategorized

A woman has accused Cristiano Ronaldo, the famous football superstar, of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel room in June 2009. The woman, Kathryn Mayorga, filed a lawsuit in 2018, claiming that Ronaldo forcefully had sex with her. Ronaldo has denied the allegations, stating that everything was consensual. However, he paid $375,000 in hush money to Mayorga as part of a settlement.

Recently, the case has resurfaced as Mayorga’s lawyers have filed a petition to reopen the civil lawsuit. They argue that the federal court judge in Nevada made a mistake by rejecting Mayorga’s attempts to include the confidentiality agreement she signed in 2010 as evidence. The agreement was related to the hush money payment.

In June 2019, US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey dismissed the case due to bad-faith conduct and the use of stolen confidential documents. However, Mayorga’s lawyers believe that the dismissal was unjust and are seeking to overturn it in the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ronaldo’s lawyers maintain that the sexual encounter between Ronaldo and Mayorga was consensual. They emphasize that both parties were bound by a confidentiality agreement, which prohibits them from discussing the incident.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest football players of all time. He has played for top clubs such as Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United. Currently, he plays for the Saudi Arabian team Al Nassr FC, reportedly under a record-breaking annual deal of GBP 177 million.

The case against Ronaldo has sparked significant controversy and media attention. However, it is important to note that the accusations and claims made herein are allegations and have not been proven in a court of law. The legal battle will continue to unfold as the appeal process moves forward.
