Chinese swimmer Wu Shutong started the race behind Japanese swimmer Airi Ebina and her Chinese teammate Sun Jiake. However, Wu showed incredible determination and skill as she caught up with Ebina towards the end. Taking advantage of Ebina’s slight faltering, Wu turned it up a notch and clinched the gold medal in the Asian Games swimming event held in Hangzhou. This victory adds to China’s domination of the games on home soil.
