Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC) workers are celebrating as the party secured 2 seats in the 5th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Election. The counting of votes is currently underway for the fifth LAHDC-Kargil election, which witnessed a triangular contest among the National Conference (NC), Congress, and the BJP. The voting for the 26 seats took place on October 4. This election holds significance as it is the first major poll in Kargil after the abrogation of Article 370 and the creation of the Ladakh Union territory in 2019.
