The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), South Zone, Chennai, will be organizing a special tour called the Diwali Ganga Snana Yathirai Bharat Gaurav Train to coincide with the upcoming Deepavali festival. This package tour, running from November 9 to November 17, will give tourists the unique opportunity to participate in a sacred bath in the Ganges River at Kashi on the day of Deepavali. The tour will cover various holy places including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gaya, and Rameswaram, culminating with a visit to the Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameswaram. The tour will be conducted on a tourist train consisting of 14 coaches, including AC and sleeper coaches. The tour will start from Tenkasi and will have stoppages at various destinations, allowing tourists to board from different locations. The IRCTC plans to host a total of 600 tourists on this tour, with bookings already numbering at 300. The tour is primarily aimed at tourists and senior citizens from Tamil Nadu. The package costs ₹16,850 per person for the economy class and ₹30,500 per person for the comfort class. Accommodations and transfers will be provided, along with vegetarian meals. Bookings can be made through the IRCTC tourism website. The tour will be the ninth Bharat Gaurav Tourist train tour organized by the IRCTC in South Zone, Chennai this year. The safety and comfort of tourists will be given priority, with tour managers, security staff, and medical kits available on board. Additionally, flameless cooking using induction stoves will be done in the pantry cars. Closed circuit television units will be installed in the coaches, and announcements will be made through the public address system. The movement and schedule of the train will be closely monitored by the IRCTC to ensure the safety and well-being of the tourists.
