The Israeli Prime Minister had claimed that Hamas was responsible for the attack, but the Palestinian envoy to the UN has vehemently countered this, calling him a liar. The envoy alleges that Israel deliberately targeted the hospital, speculating the presence of Hamas in the vicinity. The envoy has held Israel accountable for the attack and called for an immediate ceasefire. On the other hand, the Israeli Prime Minister asserts that intelligence from multiple sources suggests that Islamic Jihad was responsible for a failed rocket launch which hit the hospital. He denies that the IDF targeted hospitals and says they only aim for Hamas strongholds and terror targets.
