Performance dips in TPP achievement in Q1FY24: MoSPI report

The Indian government has achieved over 80% completion in eight out of 14 parameters measured under the Twenty Point Programme in Q1FY24, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). However, this is a decline from the previous year, as in Q1FY23, the government achieved over 80% completion in 10 out of 14 projects. The areas where performance lagged in Q1FY24 included rural housing, promotion of self-help groups, and forests. The government could only construct 4.97 lakh houses against a target of 1.42 million, and the area covered under plantation was only 10% of the target. On the other hand, the government achieved a completion rate of 107% in the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Vikas Yojana (PMGSY), constructing 6,403 km against a target of 6,000 km.
