Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has instructed the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) to change its business approach to achieve a turnover of ₹50,000 crore by 2027-28. During a meeting with the NCCF’s Board of Directors, Shah emphasized the need for NCCF to become a self-reliant cooperative institution and prepared a roadmap for the next decade. He stated that the Ministry of Cooperation would provide full support to NCCF in implementing this roadmap. Shah also stressed the importance of including Primary Agricultural Credit Societies and other cooperative institutions as members of NCCF to increase its capital share. Additionally, Shah highlighted the significance of NCCF procuring maize from farmers in Gujarat, Bihar, and other states for ethanol production through its associate companies.
