Cyclone Hamoon, which originated over the Bay of Bengal, has intensified into a ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The storm is currently moving east-northeastwards with a speed of 23 kmph. It is expected to gradually weaken and cross the Bangladesh coast near Chittagong by the early hours of October 25.
